Osman Yesildag
Osman studied at Erasmus University Rotterdam and graduated in 2006, specialising in Private- and Commercial Law. During his internship at a large law firm specialising in shipping and transport, he developed an interest in this field. After working as a paralegal in the Transport Law Practice Group of a law firm, Osman joined Jumelet Verhagen as a lawyer in September 2007. He was admitted to the bar in December 2007. In 2015, Osman completed the postgraduate specialisation course in Transport Law at the Grotius Academy.
Osman primarily advises and litigates in the fields of shipping, trade and transport law. His clients include shipowners, underwriters, P&I Clubs, shipbrokers and agents, shipyards, bunker suppliers and tugboat companies. His work includes the attachment of ships and other assets, handling liability issues and contractual disputes, drafting and reviewing agreements, cargo auctions, shipping-related personal injury cases, disciplinary proceedings against crew members, debt recovery and matters relating to international trade.
Osman speaks and writes Turkish fluently. He has contacts in Turkey and is familiar with Turkish culture.
Osman is a member of the Dutch Association for Transport Law. He is registered in the Dutch Bar Association’s register of legal practice areas as follows:
