Daan Tilburg

Daan practises in the fields of shipping, transport and trade law and insurance law. His clients include shipowners and charterers, carriers, cargo interests and underwriters (P&I/FD&D). The matters he handles include cargo damage claims, collisions and salvage, limitation of liability, charters, ship arrests, sanctions-related matters and debt recovery, both in court proceedings and in arbitration.

In addition, Daan is active in liability law, including personal injury cases. A large part of these matters has an international character. He regularly works together with foreign lawyers and underwriters.

Daan graduated from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2023, where he completed the master’s programmes in Private Law and Liability & Insurance. During his studies he worked as a legal assistant in the civil law practice of a law firm, where he developed a particular interest in liability law. Daan has been working as a lawyer since August 2024.

Daan is a member of the Dutch Association for Transport Law (NVV) and the Rotterdam Young Bar Association.
