Willem Boonk
Willem Boonk was admitted to the bar in the Netherlands in 2005 and joined Smallegange Lawyers in May 2015. He is a partner of the firm since 2017.
Willem advises clients and litigates in cases involving shipping, transport & logistics, international trade, and insurance. His work covers a broad range of matters in these practice areas, including matters related to all modes of transport (Hague-Visby Rules, CMR, CMNI), international trade disputes and personal injury claims. His clients include (P&I) insurers, transport companies, tradinging companies, logistics services providers and shipowners.
In addition to his work as a practicing lawyer, Willem is a member of the editorial board of maritime law reports journal “Schip & Schade. He regularly gives workshops and lectures on the areas of law he specializes in. Also, he is an occasional guest lecturer at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
Willem is able to advise his clients in Dutch, English or German.
Willem Boonk has registered the following principal (and secondary) legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):
- Transport and trade law
Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
